Meter Mk. 4

The meter consists connected circles of cardboard and is used to calculate fire danger index and rate of spread (m.p.h.)

" The fire danger index given by this metr is directly related to the chances of a fire starting, its rate of spread, intensity and difficulty of suppression according to various combinations of temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity adn both long and short term drought effects. Damage potential, expressed in terms of area burnt, is a power function of the index." -- from back of meter.
