General Note:
(Reference Abstract -- Abstract ) Several erosion surfaces can be recognized in eastern Victoria in remnants preserved at a number of levels in the Eastern Highlands. These remnants indicate that the surfaces were old-age of low relief, but not true peneplanins. The correlations and conclusions adopted below should be regarded as tentative, and must await more intensive field work and further criticism before they can be accepted as definite. In particular, more knowledge of Cainozoic faulting and epeirogenic movements is required before such land surfaces can be correlated over large areas.
